A selection of
artwork belonging to the late Harold Milch of world-renowned Milch Galleries will be among
the highlights at Stamford Auctions 19th annual New Years Day sale. The Milch
Galleries works include an Ernest Lawson landscape and several watercolors by John Wharf
as well as Mario Tozzi. In addition works of art from the estate of Alex Raydon, a third
generation dealer/collector, and a large collection of samplers from a Yonkers estate
fresh to the market, most retaining their original frames and glass will also be offered.
The auction features
a variety of quality estate merchandise as well as an important collection of Sterling
silver, highlights of which include a 200 piece Georg Jensen pyramid pattern flatware set,
a Georgian lidded tureen and over 30 lots of Tiffany Sterling including 2 flatware sets.
Additional items
include unreserved property from a former Madison Avenue antique shop. A large selection
of 20th Century modern featuring a George Nakoshima hanging wall cabinet, Wagner and
Dunbar will also be featured.
The 1000+ lot
auction is scheduled for Sunday January 1st at 11am. Preview will be held from Monday
December 26th to Saturday December 31st between the hours of 10:30am-5:00pm. A fully
