Stamford
Auctions Summer Estate Sale will feature hundreds of estate lots, including a late
addition session of fresh items being offered for sale in connection with the execution of
a money judgment entered in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, a
collection of exceptional unreserved jewelry from an established dealer-collector, now
retired, a vintage Hermes steamer trunk, a large selection of antique carpets, as well as
fine silver, porcelains and decorative furnishings.
There
are over 300 lots of fine unreserved estate jewelry, thousands of pieces in total,
featuring an impressive array of precious and semi-precious stones. The highlights of the
jewelry portion of the sale are a 9.3 carat M-N color, VS diamond ring, estimated at
50,000 70,000, a 25 carat ruby and diamond pin, an 18 carat diamond bracelet, a
floral form ruby and diamond convertible dress pin with 30carats of rubies and 19 carats
of diamonds, a 10 carat Burmese ruby ring with 36 side diamonds, and a diamond and pearl
butterfly pin set with 8 carats of diamonds a 12.5mm South Sea pearl and two emeralds. A massive collection of exceptionally fine
Victorian cameos, group lots of precious and semi-precious rings, bracelets and pins,
round out the collection.
Over
60 lots of antique carpets, including an exceptional palace size Oushak, a Sigler Mahal
Persian carpet, an Austrian Arts and Crafts carpet, and an Austrain Serapi carpet woven in
the 1900s.
A
selection of artwork from the estate of Alexander Raydon includes a Walter Emerson Baum
oil on canvas, an Arthur Szyk pen, ink and pencil on paper, a Yasuo Kuniyoshi pencil on
paper, a Paul Dougherty oil on canvas, and a Moise Kisling pencil and crayon on paper.
The
late addition items being offered for sale in connection with the execution of a money
judgment entered in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York include
fine period Continental and English furniture, an oversized George III painted and
giltwood mirror with ornate floral and bellflower surround, three 18th Century
Continental commodes, a fine 18th and 19th Century clock collection,
Judaic and Russian silver, and a large collection of Herend animal figures.
A
wine & cheese preview will be held the evening of Thursday June 8th from
5-9pm. Regular preview hours are Friday June 9th
and Saturday June 10th from 11am to 5pm, and Sunday June 11th from
